General Scholarships for High School:

Here are some scholarships available for high school students in the US and Canada. In the future, we will add more scholarships, and also include scholarships for students in countries like Australia, UK and New Zealand.

 

1) AFA Teens for Alzheimer's Awareness College Scholarship:

For college-bound high school juniors and seniors. Applicants need to write an essay on Alzheimer, and one winner gets the grand prize of $5,000.

2) Coca-Cola Scholarships:

For college-bound high school students.  The scholarship is $25,000, and one award is given each year.

For high school students who participate in an essay contest on the novel Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.  236 scholarships are available, each worth $10,000.

5) Signet Classics Scholarship:

For high school juniors and seniors writing an essay on one of the four topics determined by the committee every year.  5 scholarships  of 1,000 each are available.

6) NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund:

For all high school students participating in a writing contest.  1 award of $4,000 is available.

7) American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest:

For high school students enrolled in public, parochial, military, private, or state accredited home schools.  Several scholarships of up to $18,000 are available.

For junior or senior high school students who are able to participate in an 8-week paid internship program in Washington, DC. Number and amount of awards vary.

9) America's Junior Miss Scholarship Program:

For college-bound high school girls. Several awards of varying amounts are available each year for female students participating in a number of contests.

For young entrepreneurs across the USA.  100 scholarships of $10,000 are available.

16) CBAI Annual Scholarships:

For high school seniors statewide.  Students are asked to write an essay.  13 scholarships of $4,000 each are available.

17) National Vocabulary Competition:

For high school students between ages of 13 to 19.  Applicants should take the National Qualifying Exam. 50 finalists win a trip to the championship finals. The scholarship amount is $40,000.

For students of Asian or Pacific Islander ethnicity who are getting enrolled full time in a four- or two-year college or university. Several awards of $2000 are available.

For senior high school students who show free spirit and are interested in a career and education in journalism.  Several scholarships of a minimum of $1000 are available.
